Overhead Cranes

Double or Single Beam

Single Girder Overhead Crane

The Single Girder Overhead Crane consists of a single main beam supported at each end by headstocks, which enable the longitudinal translation of the bridge along the runway. The hoisting unit—incorporating both the lifting and traversing mechanisms—operates directly on the main beam, typically via a trolley running along its lower flange.

Multiple hoisting devices may be installed on the same crane when required. These additional hoists can function concurrently with the primary unit to support coordinated lifting operations, or serve as auxiliary units to increase operational flexibility and efficiency.

Double Girder Overhead Crane

The Double Girder Overhead Crane is configured with two parallel main girders rigidly connected to end carriages (headstocks), which provide the longitudinal travel of the bridge along the runway beams. The hoisting assembly—typically a wire-rope hoist or differential gear mechanism—runs on a trolley system that traverses the upper flanges of the girders, enabling precise lateral motion.

Multiple hoisting units can be integrated into the same crane structure, operating either in synchronized mode with the primary hoist to increase lifting capacity or functioning independently as auxiliary hoists for specialized handling tasks. This configuration ensures optimized load distribution, increased operational flexibility, and enhanced performance in demanding industrial environments.
